The firm now known as Smith Conerly LLP has been representing clients throughout Georgia and the Southeast for over thirty years.

Born and raised in Carrollton, J. Nevin “Huck” Smith returned to his hometown and founded the firm in 1986. From its early days, the firm’s goal has been to offer the legal expertise one expects from a big-city firm, in a package that preserves small-town values. This model quickly established the firm as an indispensable part of the community.

Desiring to work with those who share in the same vision for the firm, Huck partnered with Charles “Chuck” Conerly in 2002. Chuck now heads the litigation practice at Smith Conerly, and Huck the transactional and bankruptcy practices. The firm has distinguished itself over the years both in terms of the quality of its services and the integrity of its attorneys. Smith Conerly is the “go-to” shop in the area for complex litigation and transactional matters.

Focusing on businesses and local governments, Smith Conerly represents clients principally located in the Metro-Atlanta area and in the West-Central portion of Georgia from Rome to LaGrange to Columbus and from Carrollton to Newnan to Macon. The firm’s attorneys are licensed to practice in Georgia.
